World Wildlife Fund - Anita van Breda Portrait

For World Wildlife Fund, I photographed Anita van Breda, their expert on disaster risk. We met at the Georgetown Waterfront in Washington, D.C., an area that she helped rebuild. Anita works with local and global humanitarian aid agencies to preserve and restore habitats and natural resources.

Panama and Costa Rica with Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic

In the spring of 2015, I taught photography aboard the Lindblad / National Geographic Expedition to Costa Rica and Panama. We disembarked from Colon, Panama, a short distance from the Panama Canal’s Atlantic entrance. Our journey took us through the canal and into Gatun Lake, where we visited a Smithsonian Institute Research Center. Upon exiting the canal, we continued along the Pacific side of Panama and Costa Rica. Each day, we explored islands and coastline in search of amazing wildlife and fascinating educational opportunities. Activities included horseback riding, bird watching, swimming/kayaking and hiking. All the while, I would gather with enthusiastic photographers and share in the craft. Here are some photos from the expedition.

Portrait - Advocate, Jannette Wundrow for AARP

Jannette Wundrow is a retired public school teacher from Bowie, Maryland. Wundrow, 76, lobbies for the pension fund and other issues important to older Maryland residents as an AARP volunteer legislative advocate. She regularly attends meetings of the Prince George's County legislative delegation. One day I had the privilege of shadowing her and making portraits in the Maryland Department of Legislative Services. AARP published her story here in March.
